Director, Graduate Center for Career Development
Job Summary: The Director will establish, develop, and sustain relationships in order to enhance the Graduate School's employer network and provide world-class opportunities for students seeking domestic and international positions. The incumbent will lead, develop, and manage the strategy for the Graduate Center for Career Development in collaboration with the Office of the Dean. Specifically, the Director will possess and develop industry knowledge and be aware of trends within established and emerging employment sectors that complement Babson trained graduates; will ensure the strategic alignment between career services and the School's strategic goals as well as managing the execution of measurable goals and objectives; and will be responsible for the overall goal of establishing and executing a placement strategy that provides our students with outstanding internship and career opportunities. The role is envisioned to be a largely external one involving establishing connections with both small and large employers and clearly communicating these opportunities to students. Essential Responsibilities: * Responsible for creating and implementing strategy to drive relationship management to each of the Center's core constituencies which are students, employers, and alumni. * Drives all efforts related to career services, including but not limited to: employer/recruiter relations, student placement, and professional career development of student populations, outreach, and marketing efforts. * Understands and responds to the national and global economy relating directly to matters of career development and placement for students and spearheads efforts to refine, reform, and create programs and services that address the needs of the school's student populations. * Collaborates with the Office of Admissions on recruitment efforts to ensure alignment between incoming students and their anticipated job placement success. * Serves as student ambassador so that the incumbent, and staff, are student focused. * Delegates day-to-day operations of the Graduate Center for Career Development to the Senior Associate Director while ensuring the highest level of quality for all operations in pursuit of influencing a customer-service oriented culture. * Serves as a primary liaison between the graduate career office and employers who recruit Babson graduates which includes frequent interaction with executives from key industries. * Anticipates, responds to, and ensures the measurement, analysis, and improvement in outcomes of internal surveys as well as national and global rankings to enhance and promote the Babson brand of entrepreneurship in thought and action. * Oversees the effectiveness, relevancy, and value of services provided across all levels of student and employer/recruiter populations. * Mentors professional staff and directs the offices' strategic objectives. * Responsible for managing the annual budget and ensuring budget alignment with the School's goals. * Assumes additional responsibilities as required. Supervises: Senior Associate Director, MBA Career Development Associate Directors, MBA Career Education Associate Directors, MBA Corporate Relationships Operations Manager Administrative Coordinator Job Requirements Job Requirements: Minimum Level of Education Required: MBA or Master's Degree in related field Minimum Level of Experience Required: 10 years of proven success in the HR department of a major employer or an HR consulting organization (at the level of a VP), or Career Services and/or Higher Education, and substantial experience managing an 8+ person team with strategic and operational objectives Working Conditions: May require occasional evening and/or weekend work; travel required Additional Required Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrated ability to establish connections with employers * Demonstrated ability to provide a strategic vision for placement of Babson graduate students and a willingness to champion their candidacy * Must have proven leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing projects and professionals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a competitive market * Must have experience in human capital management and have functioned as a senior leader and/or has senior-level Human Resources experience * Demonstrated excellence in balancing between leading and managing; efficiency in managing budgets; and excellence in relationship management and customer services, mature judgment, and strong leadership capabilities * Must possess knowledge of the student career experience, MBA curriculum, and the employment marketplaces * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) Apply Here: http://www.apply-for-job.net/c/jobclick.cfm?site=8003&job=6902156
