It is the North American subsidiary of the World Economic Forum, the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Government.

The Community Lead will manage and grow the Forum's IT Industry Skills Consortium, a private-public collaborative initiative that enables individuals to understand the changing employment landscape and provide them with the right training to obtain new skills required for success in the digital economy. The Community Lead will work with senior executives at leading information technology (IT) companies to engage them in Forum activities and contribute to the development of the consortium, serving as an interface with industry contacts and external stakeholders.

This role is funded by the consortium members and will have a duel reporting line to the consortium governance body and the World Economic Forum. This is full-time role funded for 3 years.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in designing and driving the newly formed consortium of technology companies to pool their resources to address ongoing shifts in the job market
  • Manage participation of member companies to ensure community alignment and pool their collective insights and areas of expertise
  • Drive engagement of CEOs, steering committee members, operating committee members and other senior executives in the consortiums activities
  • Identify and engage partners from the NGO and public sector to scale initiative reach
  • Develop communication and marketing materials that clearly articulate the combined efforts of the community
  • Be a resource to colleagues across the information and communication technologies team, and work closely with other teams to enhance success of the consortium

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree (MPA/MBA) preferred or equivalent from a globally renowned institution
  • Minimum of six years' professional experience in relevant industry
  • Experience working with non-profits, foundations or governmental organizations preferably in areas of adult education, training and skills development
  • Experience developing platforms and enabling a seamless end user experience is ideal
  • Prior experience with business development and relationship management at a highly customized and bespoke level
  • Excellent communication skills and command of the English language, both written and verbal; fluency in another language an asset
  • A broad intellectual background, with demonstrated leadership capabilities, business success and an interest in global affairs
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations to senior executives and senior policy-makers
  • Highly service-oriented and a flexible team player
