Assistant CIO and Director of Strategic Portfolio Management

["•\tProvides oversight and overall leadership in support of the VPCIO for establishing strategies to engage university stakeholders (senior university academic and administrative leaders; extant governance committees, e.g. Faculty Senate; student government officials and appointees; faculty/staff advisory committees; and, extant or ad hoc focus groups) in discussion to determine university IT directions and priorities.\r\n•\tWorks with the VPCIO’s Senior Leadership Team and distributed IT leadership teams to prepare issues, business cases, projects and presentations for discussion during engagement sessions. Responsible for providing written synopses of sessions for leadership consultation.\r\n•\tProvides leadership in the planning, designing and implementation of strategic business objectives based on stakeholder and partner engagement.\r\n•\tEstablishes processes to validate IT strategies and align them with campus business objectives and provides guidance to UBIT strategic planning processes with respect to campus business objectives.\r\n•\tEvaluates new strategic business opportunities, initiatives and/or joint ventures by monitoring technology market activity. \r\n•\tWork with the executive and senior leadership team to align the strategic business plan and roadmaps based on understanding the University’s strategy, goals and objectives", "•\tOversees the development of business cases, including strategy, business and technical analysis and cost savings complexities. Deliver management-level analyses and recommendations to the VPCIO Senior Leadership team based on sound business and financial analyses.\r\n•\tDevelop thorough and consistent frameworks, templates and decision models to facilitate ease of analysis review internally and externally. \r\n•\tEnsure business analysis and project management training and development are focused towards building competencies to support both current and future needs of the university.\r\n•\tAdvisor to IT leadership and/or business executives about the IT portfolio regarding project status, value proposition, forecasting, and resource planning for delivering strategic initiatives \r\n•\tGuide the Executive and leadership teams, project teams and the organization in developing process maturity and organizational integrity with respect to Governance and Portfolio and Project Management.\r\n•\tEnsure project management on strategic projects as needed and mentor and develop project managers across the unit to support the University’s information technology project portfolio\r\n•\tPlan, direct, and ensure the successful management of designed business solutions utilizing PMO resources, assigned project budgets, and assigned project management teams creating an environment built from continuous improvement striving for ‘on time’ and ‘on budget’ execution and organizational fit.\r\n•\tOversee the Portfolio Management office including directing project management staff, administration of PMO tools, establishment of PMO standards and reporting mechanisms, and communication with the campus regarding UBIT program and project performance.", "•\tDetermine, develop, author, and administer campus-wide Information IT polices and procedures.
