Clinical Coordinator for Program in Mental Health Counseling

You will work closely with students, site supervisors, internship instructors and the program director for the internship placement process in the program and ensure all placements are within accreditation guidelines. You will assist students in finding available internship sites, feedback on site selection and assistance with the setup process. Further work with students will include explaining supervisor guidelines that meet New York State and accreditation guidelines and the importance of the student evaluation information provided by the supervisor. Collaboration with internship instructors regarding the internship site search and selection process will occur as needed. This position requires community outreach efforts to develop and identify new clinical training sites. Further, collaboration with internship sites, internship professors, and students to monitor student performance/progress and maintaining professional and ethical standards is crucial.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
• Securing new or maintaining existing Affiliation Agreements with all field sites is an important duty. Additional written documentation (e.g., appreciation letters, file notes, compilation of site supervisor resumes, and evaluation forms, clinical hour logs, etc.) will be created and/or filed as needed.
• The compilation and maintenance of a database describing field placement sites, supervisors, MHC interns, and contacts will be essential.
• Coordination of clinical placements requires phone, email contact, and in person site visits, recurring as needed.
