Entrepreneurship Clinic Adjunct

The School of Management at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY) is seeking a part-time adjunct to assist with the Entrepreneurship Clinic. We seek individuals who can understand and contribute to our mission and vision. Assignments include providing mentorship and oversight to clinic students, being involved in the development of the clinic and assist with programming design.
Essential Functions:
Participate in the UB I-corps program as a mentor with the intent to:
  • Assist I-Corp teams with the development of commercial opportunities;
  • Identify content development & training strategies for the Entrepreneurship Clinic;
  • Assist I-corps PI’s with developing specifications for potential projects (desired outcomes, scope of project deliverables, resource requirements, and timeframes) for Entrepreneurship Clinic participation, i.e. customer discovery and customer creation strategy development; and
  • Recruit students to join the I-Corps teams with the intent to provide the desired project outcomes .
Participate in “deep dive” meetings with Business Entrepreneurial Partnerships (BEP) and the new venture founders who are applying for BEP Investment Funds with the intent to:
  • Identify and specify the key needs to help the new ventures become investment ready;
  • Identify content development & training strategies for the Entrepreneurship Clinic;
  • Specify potential projects (desired outcomes, scope of project deliverables, resource requirements, and timeframes) for Entrepreneurship Clinic participation, i.e. customer discovery and customer creation strategy development; and
  • Draft an engagement letter and secure support from new venture founder(s), BEP manager(s) and Entrepreneurship Clinic (students and adjunct).
Attend entrepreneurship classes as necessary to learn UB entrepreneurship methodologies that can be utilized for BEP projects.
  • Assist with the development of an alumni mentorship network to support the Entrepreneurship Program.
  • Assist the Entrepreneurship Program with the development of alliances with organizations operating within the WNY entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Provide input in the development of the UB entrepreneurial curriculum and program offerings.
  • Attend Entrepreneurship Program Adjunct Professor staff meetings.
  • Participate in the MBA Consulting Group activities in a co-advisor role.
