New MBA Grads: What starting salary range have you negotiated or do you expect?
Overall:
- 45% of women MBAs expected/negotiated 75k or less.
- 52% of women MBAs expected/negotiated 75-100k.
- While only 3% of women MBAs expected/negotiated 100-125k.
In contrast:
- 16% of male MBAs expected/negotiated starting salaries under 75k.
- 35% of male MBAs expected/negotiated starting salaries 75k-100k.
- 19% of male MBAs expected/negotiated starting salaries 100k-125k.
- 22% of male MBAs expected/negotiated starting salaries 125k-150k.
- And 8% of men report they expect or have negotiated starting salaries over 150k.
Summary:
New MBA Grads who are women had lower starting salaries than men.
The salary expectation of 97% of new MBA women graduates was $100,000 or less.
While the salary expectations of newly minted male MBAs were higher. The poll showed only 3% of women expected 100-125k while 49% of men expected 100k and above.
